We escaped from Washington and we are in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, just over the border. Here we found our 10th DDD called Jimmy's Down the Street. This place was cool. Their famous Pecan Cinnamon Rolls are ridiculous. We both ate some delicious food. The people were just as nice as they could be and the place is beautiful..

Neither one of us had ever flown in a Sea Plane and when we saw the opportunity to fly in one, we were all over it. The trip lasted about 25 minutes and we flew all over the Coeur d' Alene area. Many super stars own summer homes here, from Wayne Gretzky to John Elway and actors from televisions' CSI. The homes are a bit ostentatious; one is 26,000 square feet plus tennis courts. ( You can see ! ) But, the coolest thing we saw was a floating green that is part of a public golf course. Players are taken out to the green in a boat. I am not sure they would need to take me out there, 'cause I am not sure I would ever hit the green? They move this floating green daily by pulling it in and out, and side to side, to change both distance and angle.

Coeur d' Alene itself, is a quaint little tourist town with many bistros and shops. This is also college town, so you have many college age kids with the option of clothing minimal. Around the area there are hotels for conferences and many water activities such as parasailing and jet skiing for afternoon enjoyment. The Lake itself was formed by a glacier and the water is crystal clear....

We had a wonderful time in Coeur d' Alene and played golf on a beautiful course. The deer enjoyed watching us play, too. We played pretty well considering our long layoff... We had a beer at this old gas station turned restaurant. We enjoyed their great pizza too !
